Niamh McCarthy

Director of Climate-Related Risk and Orbitas, Climate Advisers

Niamh McCarthy is Director of Climate-Related Risk at Climate Advisers and the Director of Orbitas, where she specializes in financial transparency, data analytics, and sustainability.

Prior to joining Climate Advisers, Niamh spent five years at General Electric in corporate finance.  She completed rotational assignments across a diverse range of industries, locations, and finance disciplines through the Financial Management Program.  Niamh then led the finance workstream for a cross-functional transformation team set up to integrate a major business acquisition.  She subsequently served as the senior cash flow planning and analysis manager, responsible for improving operating rhythms and ensuring strong forecasting and reporting execution.

Niamh has previous experience at Product (RED), The Chicago Council on Global Affairs, and the Irish Institute at Boston College.  She earned a master’s degree in Green Management, Energy, and Corporate Social Responsibility (MaGER) from Bocconi University, where she wrote her thesis on the alignment of United States Fortune 250 companies to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals using word frequency analysis on sustainability reporting.  Niamh holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and international studies from Boston College.
